2014 Spring Wuhan University EMBA Alumni Reunion

In the season of cherry blossoms, Wuhan University witnessed the 2014 Spring EMBA Alumni Reunion. From March 20th to 23rd, around 270 people including students and alumni of Year 2012 Class (2), Class (3), Class (5) (Shenzhen) and Year 2013 Class(1), Class (2) and Class (3) gathered at the foot of Mountain Luojia from all corners of the world.

During the four-day event, students gathered by class and attended excellent courses taught by EMBA professors appointed by Wuhan University. Lecturers include Professor Meng Xianzhong from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Ouyang Runping from Hunan University, Professor Fang Erjia from China University of Political Science and Law, and Professor Li Gongzhen and Professor Li Jingyi from Wuhan University, who respectively taught five core courses: Strategic Management, Business Ethics and Social Responsibility, Confucianism and Entrepreneurship, Chinese and Western Cultures in Comparison, and Chinese Ancient Poetry Appreciation.

In the evening of March 21st, Wuhan University 2014 Alumni Reunion Party was held in the Economics and Management School. Zhu Jianping, Deputy Party Secretary of the School, Vice president Li Yanping, and Yu Yanqin, Director of Postgraduate academic affairs Office, together with all the staff and students of EMBA Center enjoyed the party with singing and dancing to celebrate the reunion. During the party, EMBA Center also gave awards to individuals and groups who have remarkable performance in course learning and management of class activities.

In the morning of March 22nd, Professor Zhou Yezhong, the reputed jurist and Dean of Wuhan University Graduate School delivered a brilliant “EMBA Frontier Forum” speech titled Several Questions on Comprehensively Accelerating ‘Ruling by Law in China’. Mr. Zhou was articulate with ideas, evidences and logic. In his interaction with EMBA alumni and students, he analyzed the problems and development directions of accelerating ‘Ruling by Law in China’ and rendered inspirations for all the attendees.

In the sunny afternoon of March 22nd, “EMBA Spring Fun Games” was hold in the Gym of School of Engineering located at the shore of East Lake.

In the morning of March 23rd, the second “EMBA Frontier Forum” of the reunion event was focused on a keynote speech “Recent and Distant Problems of China’s Economy” delivered by Professor Xie Danyang, famous economist and dean of the Economics and Management School. Just as an attendee put it, “These latest ideas from the expert will give us foresights which will benefit the future layout and strategic development of our enterprises.

The annual EMBA alumni reunion event provides a platform for EMBA students and alumni to communicate and share information, and reinforce their sense of identity and pride in their Alma Mater. Thanks to the event, EMBA program has managed to establish a high-end interactive learning platform. By various forms such as courses, lectures and forums, it opens horizon for new thoughts in the transmission of knowledge. The event of this year broke the concept of “class” for “EMBA Team” and promoted the idea of “Happy Study, Healthy Work”. The colorful event attracted many EMBA students and alumni who have sacrificed their working hours or spare time to join the event. This shows their support for the EMBA program.
