Abstract:In this talk the speaker will present an overview of the current challenges facing the electricity generation sector both in the regions with organized electricity markets, and in those where the industry is vertically integrated. The speaker will present results from her research group regarding alternatives to integrate large proportions of electricity generation from wind and solar, and the role that the smart-grid and distributed energy resources (DERs) will play in the near future along.
