From August 6 to 8, the 18th Forum of the World Association for Political Economy (WAPE) was held at Yeditepe University in Turkey. Under the theme "The Era of Multipolarity: Challenges and Opportunities for Political Economy," the forum brought together over 100 scholars from more than 20 countries. Professor JIAN Xinhua from Wuhan University was honored with the "World Marxian Economics Award" in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Marxist economic research. Professor Jian attended the forum and delivered an acceptance speech.

In his address, Professor Jian reflected on his personal growth and academic journey, sharing key findings from his research on China’s economic reforms and development, as well as his perspectives on major economic issues. He expressed his commitment to continuing his study and application of Marxist political economy, while also drawing insights from Western economics, to contribute to China’s socialist modernization in the years to come.
About Professor Jian Xinhua
Professor Jian Xinhua is a distinguished scholar at Wuhan University, recognized as a "Luojia Distinguished Scholar" and a model teacher. He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council and has served as a chief expert for major projects under the Marxist Theory Research and Construction Program and the National Social Science Fund. His research focuses on China’s economic development and reform, as well as socialist economic theory.
With an illustrious academic career, Professor Jian has led over 20 research projects, published more than 30 books and textbooks, and authored over 400 papers in prestigious journals such as Economic Research, Qiu Shi, Management World, and World Review of Political Economy. His work has been widely cited and reprinted, earning him more than 20 awards, including the China Publishing Government Award, the Five-One Engineering Award by the Central Propaganda Department, and the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Ministry of Education.
