On the morning of August 30, 2025, the opening ceremony for the 2025 part-time professional master's students of the Wuhan University School of Economics and Management was grandly held at the Zhuole Gymnasium. The event was attended by Xu Sheng, Deputy Director of the Graduate Quality and Professional Degree Office of the Wuhan University Graduate School; Wang Liping, Party Secretary of the School of Economics and Management; Li Hao and Yang Zhiwei, Deputy Party Secretaries; Liu Linqing and Xie Yawei, Vice Deans; Wang Kaixue, Vice President of the Wuhan University Alumni Association Economics and Management Chapter; faculty representatives; and over 600 new students.

The ceremony began with Professor Liu Linqing announcing the commencement, followed by all attendees rising to sing the national anthem. The stirring melody echoed through the gymnasium, symbolizing the spirit of the new generation and marking the official start of the academic year.

Deputy Director Xu Sheng delivered the opening address, extending a warm welcome to the new students on behalf of the Graduate School. He highlighted the advantages of professional degree education and Wuhan University’s training model, emphasizing the impact of digital transformation on education and encouraging students to cherish this learning opportunity to become high-level innovative talents.

Party Secretary Wang Liping introduced the school’s history, faculty strength, and international accreditations. She underscored the reforms and innovations in professional degree education and urged students to aim high, cultivate a global perspective and innovative capabilities, and become pillars of socioeconomic development.

The ceremony included an awards segment to honor the "Most Popular Teachers" of the 2023-2024 academic year and "Outstanding Thesis Advisors" of the 2024 academic year for their exceptional contributions to teaching and mentorship. Vice Dean Xie Yawei and Deputy Party Secretaries Li Hao and Yang Zhiwei presented the awards.

Alumni representative Wang Kaixue shared his personal learning and entrepreneurial experiences, encouraging students to seize opportunities in the era of artificial intelligence, balance inquiry with practice, and foster independent thinking and free will to achieve personal and societal progress.

Wang Yan, a 2025 MBA student, spoke on behalf of the new cohort. She encouraged her peers to cherish the learning opportunity, pursue knowledge with genuine passion, and persevere with a craftsman’s spirit to become well-rounded Wuhan University students.

The ceremony concluded with a group photo, capturing the bright smiles of all attendees and marking a perfect end to the solemn yet warm event.
