In the third National Digital Trade Comprehensive Skills Competition for College Students, the "New Era Team" from Wuhan University, with the case of their digital entertainment products going global, overcame numerous challenges and ultimately won the first prize in the Silk Road E-commerce International Students Case Competition at the national finals among 59 competing teams. The team includes TUAK ZHONG EE from Malaysia and JIRATCHAYA KARAVAPONG from Thailand, both undergraduate international students at the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University. The team was guided on the digital trade business model by Associate Professor Lin GUO at the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University.
The third National Digital Trade Comprehensive Skills Competition for College Students was hosted by the China Digital Trade Research Institute of Zhejiang University and organized by the Organizing Committee of the National Digital Trade Comprehensive Skills Competition for College Students. The competition aims to stimulate and cultivate college students' practical abilities and innovative spirit in the field of digital trade. In 2024, the third competition saw 527 colleges and universities registering, with 16,569 participants, making it a nationally influential brand event. Concurrently with the national finals, the competition was linked with the third Global Digital Trade Expo, holding a cross-border e-commerce enterprise docking meeting and the "Silk Road E-commerce Day: Thousands of College Students Sharing the Digital Trade Fair" exhibition visit and check-in activities, providing a platform for college students to access the latest digital trade technologies and achievements, as well as real employment opportunities and an on-site understanding of cutting-edge digital trade technologies.
In 2024, the competition introduced a new track for international students for the first time. The "New Era" team from Wuhan University was established in April, composed of five members: WILLIAM LEE BOON ONN (team leader), LEE WEN, SANDRA JANE TEY SIN YEE, TUAK ZHONG EE, and JIRATCHAYA KARAVAPONG. Under the guidance of teachers Xiaoqing FAN from the School of International Education and Lin GUO from the Economics and Management School, they prepared diligently for the competition, passed the regional selection in June, participated in the national finals in September, and ultimately won the first prize for Wuhan University.

In the future, the competition will be organized at the school, provincial, and national levels. It will incorporate artificial intelligence and big data, integrating education, science and technology, and talent, providing a strong talent guarantee for global trade growth. The Economics and Management School at Wuhan University will continue to provide support for teachers and students to participate in the competition.
