On October 9, 2013, five people including Mr. Kevon Pon, Associate Dean of Management School of the Catholic University of Lyon, Mr. Franck, HR Director of Automotive EFI in France, and Mr. Guyot, General Manager of the Electricfil Engine Components (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., came to visit the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University. Professor Li Yanping, the deputy dean of the school met those guests at No. 2 conference hall, and discussed with them about the possibility of establishing a mechanism of cooperation among the three parties.
The Catholic University of Lyon, founded in 1875, is a comprehensive institute providing study programs for multiple disciplines. It has exchanges and cooperation in scientific research with students and teachers from other parts of the world, thus imposing a strong international influence. And Automotive EFI, headquartered in Lyon, France and founded in 1936, is a company featuring the research and development as well as production of engine and power train applications. It takes the lead in the auto-parts industry all over the word. Currently this company has set up subsidies and business representative offices in about 10 countries around the world.
The Electricfil Engine Components (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., is a company at the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone founded and wholly owned by the Automotive EFI in September 2004. It has mainly engaged in the research and development, manufacturing, sales and after-sale services regarding spare parts for auto engines, with major international and domestic car makers like Volkswagen and General Motors as its clients. The delegation came in hope of creating a cooperative link among Wuhan University, the Catholic University of Lyon and the Automotive EFI, which will not only help students obtain credits or degrees through exchanges and studies at overseas universities but provide them with valuable internship opportunities as well.
