Associate Prof. Guo Lin attended the 7th International Business School Shanghai Conference

The 7th International Business School Shanghai Conference was held at Antai College of Economics and Management from October 21 to 23, 2018. The conference brought about 200 deans from world-leading business schools and leaders from international organizations around the globe, as well as prominent figures from consulates and chambers of commerce in Shanghai, who shared their views on business schools’ impact on the international community of management educators, the global business practice, and the broader economies of nations. Dean Song Min of our School and associate Prof. Guo Lin attended this conference.

Prof. Soumitra Dutta, Founding Dean, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business; Former Chair, AACSB; Chair, Board of Directors, Global Business School Network (GBSN), Prof. François Ortalo-Magné, Dean of London Business School, Prof. Chris Styles, Dean of UNSW Business School, Prof. CHEN Fangruo, Dean of Antai College of Economics and Managemnet, and Mr. ZHANG Ruimin, Chairman & CEO, Haier Group made their keynote speeches at the conference, shedding light on the theme from the academic, corporate and social perspectives.

With the theme of Impact and Change, the conference also touched on topics in each plenary sessions including Business School's Impacts on Social Development, The Corporate Impact of Academic Research, Evolution and Opportunities: Integration between Schools or between Companies in Emerging and Developed Economies, Do Business School Rankings Mirror its Impacts? What is the Impact in the Vision of International Organizations in Business Education Industry? How can business school better nurture leaders?

The conference draws on the educational experience of global business schools, improves the development of the world's business schools in the future, promotes the cooperation between Chinese and foreign business education, and facilitates the exchange and development of education among global business schools. It has become one of the most important platforms of discussions and exchanges for deans of business schools from developed and emerging countries. In recent years, it has also actively promoted exchanges and cooperation between countries along the Belt and Road.

In this conference, our school and other attendees discussed the future of education. The EMS will continue to promote international education and modern governance, enhance the influence of business education, and build “Double First-rate” disciplines and colleges.
