The Symposium on Teacher Classification and Intellectual Contribution Held at Economics and Management School

In order to proceed the international accreditation of AACSB smoothly, asymposium on teacher classification and intellectual contribution was heldintheHome ofTeachingStaff of the School of Economics and Management on the afternoon of July 9, 2018. Assistantto theDean of our School, Associate Prof. Guo Lin presided over the meeting which wasattended by all members of the AACSBcommittee. The purpose of this meeting is to analyze and summarize the teachers’ situation of our school according to the standards reported by our school in AACSB accreditation, andtodiscuss the dynamic adjustment scheme of relevant standards in our school for the next year.

In accordance with the relevant standards of the AACSB,business education teachers should maintain active participation andmake certain staged achievements in business academic (Scholarly Academicsor Scholarly Practitioners) or business practice(Practice Academics orInstructional Practitioners).The overwhelming proportion of faculty in departments, programs and specialties of business schools should meet the criteria. Institutions participating in AACSB accreditation shall establish conditionsthatappropriate to their own realities and developmentdemandstosupport their vision, mission and development strategy. The quantity, quality and structure of scientific research or practical results should reflect the effectiveness of the School's development strategy. The list and number of journals published by faculty members have also been added into the strategy this year, in contrast to the Journal Classification of the school.

Since 2015, ourschool has been carrying out the statistical analysis work of teacher classification and intellectual contribution. The data over the years show that the teachers in our school are excellent, and the teacherswho have doctorate degrees and abundant positive output in academic circles (research-based academic teachers)are the strong support of our research development orientation. The overall scientific research results are abundant, and high level results are emerging. At the same time, there is still great potentialin teachers cultivation and development of our school, such as the leadership of top talents to the research team, social service and influence.

The results of statistical analysis after the conference willhelp the department further studymeasures of teacher cultivation,facilitate the endogenous development of the school, and favor the teachers of our school "get theirproperplaces and develop their talents".
