This research addresses a gap in the literature by examining the long-term effects of childhood Internet exposure on noncognitive skills. We use a difference-in-differences approach and find that exposure in ages 0-12 positively impacts noncognitive skills such as extraversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness. Cognitive skills show little response. Mechanisms indicate that Internet upgrades enhance home environments through income and information channels, fostering noncognitive skills.

本研究分析儿童早期互联网接触对非认知技能的长期影响。基于双重差分法的实证结果显示，0-12 岁期间的互联网接入显著提升了外向性、责任感和亲和力等非认知能力，而认知能力的变化并不显著。作用机制表明，互联网升级通过收入和信息渠道优化了家庭环境，进而促进了非认知技能的形成。
