The results of 2013 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM) were announced recently. The teams of 2010 Mathematical Economics and Mathematical Finance Pilot Class of our school won outstanding awards, including 2 teams with first prizes, 13 teams with second prizes, and the team of Zhang Wenting and other students with first prize and nomination of best prize.

MCM is an intentional contest with widespread influence. Its objective is to encourage college teachers and students to explain, analyze and solve actual problems with infinite ranges. The teachers and students are encouraged to take part in the realization of a complete mathematical model. In this open contest, several actual problems from unlimited fields are put forward. The contest participants can use any documents, materials on the Internet, and any computer and software. This created wide space for the creativity of contest participants. The 35 students of 2010 Mathematical Economics and Mathematical Finance Pilot Class took part such international contest for the first time. They were not afraid of difficulties. During the winter holiday, they stayed in the school and prepared for the contest that rewarded them with excellent results.
