Wuhan University Festival of MBA Culture Had a Splendid Opening Day

On the afternoon of March 15, the opening ceremony of Wuhan University Festival of MBA Culture 2014 was held on the Guiyuan Basketball Court. Prof. Li Yanping, Vice Dean of WHU Economics and Management School, Zhu Jianping, Party Committee Deputy Secretary of EMS, Prof. Yan Ruosen, Executive Director of MBA Education Centre of EMS, and other guests attended the opening. The ceremony was hosted by Associate Professor Wei Wu, Deputy Director of MBA Education Centre.

During the ceremony, Secretary Zhu congratulated the opening of the festival, explained the significant role the festival activities will play in the development of MBA students in a pithy speech, and wished the success of the activities. Prof. Li Yanping’s speech pointed out that the festival is a major accomplishment of WHU’s MBA education reform, and will be celebrated and handed down as a display of the WHU MBA’s spirits and abilities. As the student representative, Zhang Yuan from International Class of 2013 made a vow to do well in the festival. Afterwards, the host announced the start of the spring basketball competition, an activity of the festival.

The basketball competition was started by the WHU MBA League, undertaken by Class B of 2013, and supported by the School. In the end, Class B of 2012, Class B, Class C and International Class of 2013 became the four winning teams in the preliminaries.

After the preliminary matches, the Wuhan University Team for Asia-Pacific Business College Desert Challenge performed their first collective training, marking the end of the festival’s first day.

The Wuhan University Festival of MBA Culture 2014 will last from March 15 to May 16. In addition to the basketball competition and the Desert Challenge, other activities will be held, including lectures about industry trends, social meetings between four MBA schools in Wuhan, the King of Karaoke contest, the “Reduce Smog by Green Travelling” public service campaign, a photography exhibition, and more.
