The second segment was hosted by Dr. Tang Min, chairman of the committee. Dr. Tang said, as an alumnus of our school, he was honored to be appointed a member and the chairman of the Consultation Committee, and given the chance to present advices for our school’s development. The committee members gave their detailed opinions on the regulations of the committee, and passed the regulations with unanimous approval.

During the consultation process, committee members provided many innovative and feasible ideas for the school’s future, using their perspectives from both the business world and the academic world. Regarding the influence of macroscopic economic policies and market on the school’s education programs, particularly the EMBA program, the members suggested that we may consider exploring middle-level vocational training, which is sorely needed by enterprises, and is in much greater demand by the market, compared to the high-level EMBA program which demand is relatively small. Secondly, regarding the market of education, the aggregation effect of business associations (such as the Union of Hubei Businessmen) can be tapped to help explore the market of vocational education and training for the private sector. This is a market with a huge demand for education that has yet to be fully discovered and exploited. Thirdly, in terms of education methods, the school may catch on the new MOOC revolution to create novel modes of remote education, and preemptively occupy the education market of the future. Lastly, in terms of education and training, the school may follow the national policy to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide intellectual support for entrepreneurship using the school’s advantages in personnel and knowledge. The committee members advised that our school can be more proactive in searching for new collaborations. If necessary, special research teams can be organized to better design courses specifically to address the market’s needs, and attract more enterprises and people to the continued learning courses. The members expressed the hope to put more effort into our school’s development, and make the contributions they can make.
